This was a great opportunity to see open AI in use. It was very well explained, the instructor was kind, patient and well researched. I highly recommend, especially for novice users.

I was already very comfortable using AI, but this course was able to teach me even more while in a way that I felt was still accessible to new users. Honestly, I feel more comfortable about using AI after attending this class. I had heard that AI made up data/information, since I was going to have to confirm the data anyway, I didn’t think it was worth using it. However, since the draft of the information is generated much quicker and provides a basic format or framework for presenting the data, I’ll be more likely to use AI first to summarize data, look for data, etc. Thanks!

I came into this seminar knowing very little about AI, and feeling a bit insecure that I knew so little. I came out with enough tools and understanding to immediately apply in my daily work and core objectives for my department and organization.

As a educator, I highly recommend this AI Training to understand the language, ethics, and scope of AI. The lectures are followed by hands on labs that gave me immediate understanding and satisfaction.

Ken provided a very clear overview of both the amazing benefits and pitfalls of using AI. His lab exercises were specific to the work of nonprofits. I learned a lot and will be utilizing AI in my work when it makes the best sense for the job at hand.

I’ve been using ChatGPT personally and professionally over the last 18 months. As an advanced practitioner, I still found value in the workshop, specifically understanding the differences in different platforms, and nuanced training features that help to increase safe usage.

This training is a very fantastic overview of the power of AI and how to leverage it for non-profit usage. I personal had a bit of exposure to AI, but only in a superficial way, and it still felt a little overwhelming. I knew that I lacked the abilty to properly use it, and thus my attempts had led to minimal value. I feel that the knowledge I gained about how to properly leverage and prompt AI has really boosted my confidence and I now feel much more empowered to experiment and expand my knowledge. It feels like a really great “jump start” for a newbie, especially.

I was able to use AI for a problem my coworkers were having with google email. I asked the question as to why it was happening and it replied with specific answers we were able to give to our IT guy, and we were able to resolve the issues. It was awesome 😉 And I did say “well chatgpt says this might be the problem”

Effective and ethical use of AI is going to be a crucial part of success for non-profits, including SYRCL and the WSFF. This course gave me the foundations I need to understand AI and begin to understand how to use this new tool effectively. I look forward to sharing the information with my team so that we can more effectively serve our mission and this community.

This training was very informative but “user friendly” without feeling dumbed down. I learned so much new information that I am going to take back to my organization, and just in one of the lab exercises alone, I was able to determine some improvements needed for our website. I had no idea before coming to this training that AI could help me with that. I am very grateful for this free training but would have been very satisfied if I had paid for it! Thank you!

I was nervous and a bit reluctant to open my mind to attend this conference, as I have been feeling overwhelmed with learning this new tool. I am so excited today for a couple of reasons: the class and speaker were extremely engaging, relatable and encouraging. I was able to apply tools learned after the first session to use immediately in my job that provided a very usable way to shorten the time of a tedious editing task, and I received buy-in from co-workers. I am further excited to explore more ways that AI can help the tiny staff at our non-profit.

I have been using ChatGPT for over a year but by attending Ken’s AI for the Community class I feel like I have a much greater understanding for AI and how it can help my organization in so many different areas like marketing, development, HR and programming.

This was a great opportunity to dip my toes into the AI waters in a safe, friendly environment. The combination of lecture and hands on experimentation was a great learning model. The examples (labs) provided served as useful learning tools that were then easy to convert to my own personal questions once I understood how to communicate use the many tips handed out along the way. I no longer feel intimidated about approaching AI tools to address real-life questions and issues.

As someone who has inevitably heard about so many polarizing views of AI and friends who work for AI companies with very strong opinions about how to use/the need to use it, I still felt skeptical because I wasn’t sure how it fit into my workflow and I had a lot reservations (regarding privacy, environmental impact, the concern that it would “dumb down” my abilities if I relied on it too much). However, this course provided such a tangible introduction to how to use AI, what to use it for and what not to use it for, a review of the concerns, background on why those concerns exist and how to approach it etc. – Great introduction overall!! I feel like I have much more well-rounded (and what feels like a more neutral) understanding of AI for everyday work.
