Below are a video and slide deck of our meetup presentation on July 22nd, 2026, where Erika Kosina led a discussion on “hard conversations about AI.” Here, the group discussed the trickiest communication challenges in nonprofits right now and what is needed to mitigate uncertainty and fear, using real world examples as launching points for discussion.
One question that came up which we didn’t get to discuss was budgeting for “AI exploration”. The cost for a nonprofit subscription is around $8/user/month, and both Claude Team and ChatGPT Team accounts let you incrementally add people. So a reasonable approach is to (a) get qualified as a nonprofit via goodstack, then (b) use the goodstack product offer to apply for a discount with either of these services, and (c) incrementally start adding people who want to explore how AI might help their organization.
